COVID19 Guidelines

The City of Palo Alto along with the County of Santa Clara will permit golf with the implementation of practices that minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19. In order for us to abide by those standards and create a safe environment for everyone, we ask for your help.   The well-being of our guests, staff and local communities continue to be our highest priority.  We can only open and stay open with your help following the new guidelines and strict policies that are now in place.  If you do not feel well, have any COVID-19 symptoms and/or have been knowingly exposed to anyone with COVID-19 within the past 14 days, please do not book a tee time and stay home.  Baylands Golf Links will require all customers to wear facemasks or other CDC recommended face protection while directly interacting with staff.  Masks will not be required while playing on the course.

Making Reservations and Paying Fees:
  • All tee times must be pre-paid ONLINE with a credit card prior to your arrival to the facility. NO exceptions. All rates will be walking with the option to add a cart (upon availability).
  • Advanced reservations are required. No walk-up or in-person reservations will be allowed. Walking is encouraged and promoted.
  • Golf groups will be allowed up to 4 players per Tee Time interval.
  • We ask that golfers arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before their tee time.
  • If you need golf balls, glove, sunscreen, hat or other items, you may prepay by calling the golf shop to place your order and these items must be pre-paid. Upon arrival we will have your purchases prepared for you in a special bag tagged with your name and will be given to you by the starter. We also offer a “Display Window” for you to view our Golf Essentials available for purchase at the Golf Kiosk with CC payment only. The Golf shop is closed to guests.
  • NO Cash transactions, only Credit Cards and Debit Cards will be accepted as payment.
  • The Tee Times will be available during limited hours and will be spaced 10-minutes apart for proper social distancing and to reduce any bunching up of groups and waiting.
  • Carts are SINGLE Riders only, unless they live in the same house. Same Household riders who share a cart will be checked and also have a special sign designating Family.
  • CARTS ARE LIMITED & AVAILABLE ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS. You can Add-On a cart before your check-out, but if there are No Carts Available that means we are Sold Out!
  • Liability Waivers must be signed by ALL players prior to their round
Course Guidelines:
Six feet of physical distancing is required by everyone while on the property, at ALL times and locations.
  • You may not enter the Golf Shop. You will check in for your round at the Golf Kiosk, outside the golf shop on the southside ramp of the clubhouse facing the practice facility.
  • All guests are required to wear a face covering when coming within 6 feet of someone around the property.
  • Please follow directions and pay close attention to all signage for your safety and well-being.
  • Only one person will be allowed per golf cart at all times, unless playing with a family member of the same household. Family Carts will be given a designated sign so they will be clearly identified as family. Carts are available on a first come, first served basis through their reservations. basis when making your Online reservation. No Spectators or Caddies will be allowed on the course.
  • All golfers must use their own equipment at all times. No rental clubs are available.
  • We have inserted barriers (noodles), which will stop your ball before it hits the flagstick or cup. When your ball hits the noodle, the ball is considered to be "holed out.”
  • Do not remove or touch the flagsticks.
  • There will be no bunker rakes and lies in the bunkers will be “preferred lies” and a player is permitted to place the ball. Please smooth sand with your foot as best as possible.
  • All trash receptacles, divot boxes, ball-washers and drinking fountains have been removed from the course or have been closed.
  • Continuous putting is required, and players must remain 6 feet apart on the tees and greens.
  • Pace of play: please maintain a pace of 4 hours or less
  •  On-course restrooms are open for one person at a time
  •  On-course play has limited hours due to the restrictions currently in place.
  • Posting scores is no longer available onsite, please post your score online.
  • Please replace divots and repair ball marks, when you do EVERYONE WINS!
  • After completing your round or practice session, you are required to leave the property immediately. Loitering or socializing is not permitted

Clubhouse Procedures:
  •   The golf shop will be open for employees ONLY during business hours.  The golf shop will provide our guests with a kiosk on the south ramp entrance to the golf shop helping one guest at a time. If there is a wait please stand in the designated areas for proper Social Distancing.
  • The Driving Range will be open daily
  • The Café will be open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Food & Beverage will be available--Guests can visit the Café to order or call in and pick up on our outside patio door.  The Café number is 650-223-8888.  Credit card transactions ONLY.  NO CASH.
  • Restrooms will be available at the clubhouse with doors left open and no more than 2 guests allowed in at the same time and will be sanitized throughout the day.
  • Carts will be sanitized after each use and prepared by our staff.
  • All guest touchpoints (door handles, bathroom doors, sink handles) will be sanitized throughout the day
  •  Guests will not be allowed in the golf shop.
  • Laminated menus, check presenters, and pens are sanitized after each use. Disposable menus will also be offered.
  • Staff will be wearing protective gloves and masks as designated by department and guidelines. Please call the Golf Shop immediately if you see anyone not practicing these safety rules. Anyone found not following the rules stated above will be asked to leave the premises immediately. If you have any questions, contact the Golf Shop. Be safe and enjoy your round of golf!
Practice Facility Procedures:
  •   The Driving Range will be open daily.
  • Putting Green & Chipping Green will have no cups or flags
  • The Short Game Bunker area is closed until further notice.
  • The Driving Range is open, but space will be limited in order to maintain physical distancing. Do not attempt to retrieve balls on the Driving Range. Priority stalls will be reserved for players with tee times.
  • Range baskets and range balls will be sanitized after each use.
  • The number of driving range stalls has been reduced for proper social distancing guidelines.
  • Please adhere to proper distancing and waiting areas if the range stalls are full. Any violation to this will result in loss of range privileges.
  • We will be limiting the use of the range per stall to 30 minutes or less in order to be as fair and equitable as possible to all of our guests.
  • Each guest will be limited to one bucket of range balls only, with the following choices allowed: Small-35, Medium-70 or Large-105.
  • Benches and chairs have been removed to help with no loitering and also social distancing
  • After completing your round or practice session, you are required to leave the property immediately. Loitering or socializing is not permitted.
  • No outside baskets or balls are allowed
  • There will be no rental or demo clubs available at this time
  • Guests who do not follow these guidelines will be asked to leave the premises.
  • Liability Waivers must be signed by ALL players prior to hitting range balls
