Dan Jamati, PGA Professional

Dan Jamati has been a golf coach for more than 25 years and is a member in good standing of the PGA of America.  His tremendous passion for the game and great understanding of people has allowed him to create a fun and relaxed learning environment for his students.

Dan was Director of Instruction for the Palo Alto Golf Course for 8 years, where he developed teaching programs and clinics for golfers of every age and experience level. As a Palo Alto native, he is strongly committed to supporting the local adult and youth programs.

Dan’s desire to grow his understanding of the game has led him to various PGA seminars where he has been able to learn from, and develop personal relationships with top coaches and influencers in the game.  However, Dan finds that his most invaluable education still comes from the hands-on coaching of students of all skill levels and ages.

Dan’s philosophy is to bring out the Natural swing which he believes exists in every golfer.  Together with each student a fun and  safe learning environment is created to build awareness in vital areas of the golf swing. The ultimate goal in each lesson is that the student builds their own awareness, leading to self learning, self trust, and leaves with a better ability to coach themselves.

Joey Faber, Head Golf Professional, PGA Associate

Joey grew up in the South Bay Area and is an alumni of Homestead High School ('04), Sonoma State University ('08 BA Political Science), and Golden Gate University ('16 JD). He has been playing golf since the age of 8 but he went to Sonoma State with the intention of playing baseball. After a shoulder injury ended his baseball career, Joey put his focus into golf.

Joey was a volunteer marshal at Spring Valley Golf Course in Milpitas, CA from 2011 until graduating law school in 2016. Nearing the end of law school, Joey realized his passion had been in golf all along and he started a path toward a career in the golf business. Shortly after graduation, Joey began his golf career as an Assistant Professional at Spring Valley Golf Course (Milpitas, CA). Joey moved on as an Assistant Golf Professional at The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge (San Jose, CA), and then as Assistant Golf Professional and Tournament Director at San Jose Country Club.

As Joey's background is in baseball, his approach as an instructor is to work with what people do naturally as athletes. This allows Joey and his students to build a golf swing for each individual rather than putting everyone in the same mold. Joey is currently working toward his PGA Class A Membership with a focus on Teaching and Coaching.

Joey is a member of TaylorMade Golf's Professional Staff, and member of TaylorMade's National Fitter's Council for 2019 and 2020. Joey enjoys making sure his students are fit with the correct equipment for their game and while he enjoys on-course management and short game instruction, his real passion is working with people and helping them reach their goals. Joey brings a high-energy personality to Baylands with a wide range of experience inside and outside of the golf industry.
